The F/A 18 Avionics Repair Replacement was a new construction design/build single-story 83,000 SF building that integrated multiple User Groups and functions comprising the Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) West Administration offices and Command offices in the north wing, Quality-of-Life spaces and Naval Exchange Minimart in the central core and Avionics Repair Shops, Material and Production Control, Storage, Shipping and Receiving spaces and Loading Docks in the south wing.
Design of the new building included ICD/ICS 705 compliant spaces detailed from the start of design with construction criteria reviewed and confirmed throughout the design process, monitored during construction, and accredited for compliance at the completion of construction. The project included a fully enclosed Faraday Cage and was shielded to confine the radio frequency into the room.
